Statistics: Russia’s wage arrears rise 21% in Jan to 4.33 bln rbl

MOSCOW, Feb 16 (PRIME) – Russian wage arrears rose 21.3% in January to 4.332 billion rubles as of February 1, excluding those of small businesses, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement Tuesday.

Transportation companies accounted for 35% of the arrears, the processing sector for 29%; the construction sector for 19%; the mineral extraction sector for 5%; agriculture, timber, hunting and services for 4%; and the research and development sector for 3%.
